Message I finished up my 90 NA today. It started up on the third try. I set the timing and it runs great. No leaks at all. This is the first time in over four years that I've had the car running. It took so long because I had to much stuff going on and just too many cars to mess with (7 right now, sold number 8 last August). I'm at the point that I really beleive it's not worth having more than one Z. Well, maybe two :)

Anyway, I still need to clean the car up, put back some panels, put on better wheels, touch up some paint and some other stuff before taking pictures of it. However, I did take some pictures of how I blocked the car up while working on it. I kind of promissed Kenny I would do that. The tires and wheels you see on the car are just garage beaters and yeah, I know, the rock guard is filthy.

The blocks are 12" long pieces cut from two 6x6x8 treated lumber which you can buy at Home Depot for $20 each. You need two lengths in order to have enough blocks. The blocks give you plenty of room to roll around under the car. One thing I hate when using the jack stands is how they get in the way all the time.

Here they are placed at the OEM jack locations. I use three pieces which gives you a foot and a half of clearance.

These pictures were taken from the front of the car looking back. You can see how there is no obstruction at all under the entire front area of the car and very little obstruction everywhere else. This is perfect for doing exhaust work.

In this picture you can see where I placed a 3ton floor jack under one of the main runners where jack stands are usually placed and then I removed the front blocks from both sides of the car. You only need to support one side of the car and then by lowering or raising the jack the entire front of the car pivots up and down. Placing the car at this angle makes it real easy to remove the motor and transmission together.

Thats it. Thanks for reading.
